Ehrlich's hematoxylin is a ready-made dye based on hematein with a high concentration of the main substance. It is used for histological and cytological preparations in medical diagnostics. Consists of hematoxylin, alum, IPA and iodic acid potassium.
 It can be used for staining both in routine methods "hematoxylin-eosin", and in methods of staining according to Van Gieson, when setting up immunocytochemical reactions in combination with diaminobenzidine chromogen.
